Operate · Stay informed
An AI workforce that never asks you anything is not autonomous, it is unsupervised. The Inbox is the single list of everything your Agents and Works need a human for: it sits in the sidebar under an unread badge, holds questions, approvals, escalations and notices, and every message is answered in the same place you read it — the paused run picks your answer up and carries on. Anything filed there can also come to you where you already are: the notification bell, or Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp and Novu.
Four kinds of message in one list, newest first, each badged for what it wants from you. Answering is nearly always the same motion: pick the option the agent marked Recommended, choose Other (write your own), or type your own reply, then Send Reply. The exception is an approval, which has to name Approve or Reject rather than free text — Other is not offered on one, and a reply that picks anything else is refused. Mark as read, Archive, or Delete from the row menu — the sidebar badge counts only what is still unread.
An Agent that genuinely cannot proceed asks instead of guessing: the question is filed here and the run parks itself until you answer. Questions can carry one-click options — a label and a line on what each one implies — and the Agent may mark one of them Recommended, so the usual answer is a single click.
An action proposal waiting on a person is mirrored into the Inbox with its risk flags spelled out, and carries exactly two answers: Approve or Reject. It is the same decision as the approvals queue on your dashboard home — decide in either place and the other reports that it was already decided, rather than quietly flipping it.
When a run gives up and hands the problem back — a merge the policy refused, a check loop out of attempts, a budget that stopped the work — the escalation arrives with its summary and the decision it needs. Your reply becomes the resolution note, and a run parked behind it is resumed at the same time.
System messages to read rather than decide, like a budget threshold crossed on a Work — with the spend, the cap, and whether to raise it, allow overage, or let the period roll over. A notice is still filed when the same event already rang the bell elsewhere, so the Inbox stays a complete record instead of a partial one.
Where a message waits and how it reaches you are two different settings. The Inbox is the queue; these are the roads out of it.
Settings → Channels → Add channel walks a five-provider catalog: a Slack or Discord incoming webhook URL, a Telegram bot token and chat id, WhatsApp Business credentials, or a Novu API key, workflow and subscriber. Test sends a real message through the live provider before you start relying on it, and every attempt is recorded — delivered, failed, retrying or dropped. An Agent allowed to call external tools can post an ad-hoc status ping to any of your channels too.
The header bell carries an unread count, a Mark all as read, and a per-row Dismiss. Notifications persist, so an alert you missed on Tuesday is still there on Friday — and an Inbox notification deep-links straight to the message it is about with Open inbox.
Every event type registers itself and can be pointed at the channels you want, alongside quiet hours with a real IANA timezone, per-category mutes, and organization defaults that new teammates inherit. In-app delivery is always on, so muting a category quiets your phone without losing the record.
For when you would rather have one briefing than a stream of pings: agent runs, task movement, pull requests, connected-source events and goal progress, daily or weekly. Personal and organization digests are separate switches — turning one on never changes the other — and the organization digest is the one that can carry an AI-written summary on top of the counts. See Digests for the whole surface.
Four settings, once — after that the workforce comes to you instead of you going looking for it.
Sidebar → Inbox. Active holds what is still waiting on you, Archived holds what you have filed. Open a message, answer it, and the banner saying a run is paused is replaced by confirmation that the running agent picked your reply up.
Settings → Channels → Add channel. Choose Discord, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp or Novu, paste the webhook URL or token that provider gives you, save, then hit Test and check the message actually arrived in the room you meant.
Settings → Notifications lists every registered event type against your channels, so you can see exactly what would be delivered where. Setting a row, a quiet-hours window or a category mute goes through the notifications API in this release — see the note below.
Settings → Digest: switch on your personal digest and pick Daily or Weekly — that is the whole personal form. Switch the scope to Organization for a second, independent switch that sends one shared briefing covering the whole organization, and that is where the optional AI-written summary lives: a layer on top of counts that are always computed the same deterministic way, with the form saying up front when no AI provider is configured.
The Inbox, the bell, the five channel plugins, the test send and the digests are all live today. Two pieces of the delivery layer are further along in the API than in the UI, the connector plugins ship half their journey, and one setting sits at a different level than you might guess — worth knowing before you plan around them.
A short summary of what your agents actually accomplished — daily or weekly, delivered where you already read.
